Yashima Gakutei (1786–1868) kunde räkna både Hokusai och Totoya Hokkei bland sina lärare. Han skapade framför allt bokillustrationer och surimono. Gakutei var tekniskt mycket skicklig, vilket framgår av de surimono vi ser nedan.
