Kunichika: Mitate Chuya Niju-Yo Ji no Uchi (Parody of the Twenty-four Hours of the Day) - del 1

Som många andra ukiyo-e-konstnärer, gjorde Toyohara Kunichika många serier med tryck. En av de bästa av dem är Mitate Chuya Niju-Yo Ji no Uchi (Parody of the Twenty-four Hours of the Day) från 1890, där han i varje bild kontrasterar en bijin med någon speciell aktivitet eller aspekt av vardagslivet. Koma-e

Koma-e är en term för en liten bild inlagd i en större. Såna bilder är relativt vanliga inom ukiyo-e - speciellt inom mitate-e, där den lilla infällda bildens motiv kan kontrasteras mot huvudmotivet i syfte att åstadkomma vissa associationer och effekter. Vi ska se på några exempel som visar tydligt vad som utgör en koma-e.
